Take your own Pictures
Skip the “formal” pictures at prom with the phony backdrops. Instead, stage your own photoshoot! Scout out a location in a park and ask someone you trust to take your photos there. Outdoor photos generally turn out better than ones taken indoors, so you’re sure to end up with some great photos and even more fun memories. And don’t worry if the camera isn’t top-of-the-line…even phones have really good cameras these days.
Transportation
When most people think of going to prom, a big stretch limo is what comes to mind. However, most limo companies require at least a two hour rental, and some even require a four hour rental. With rental prices starting at around $250 per hour, that could really add up. We’re not suggesting you borrow your mom’s minivan, but there are definitely some more budgetconscious options to consider. Instead of a pricey limo, consider asking a friend or family member with a nice car if they would consider loaning it to you for the evening. You could also use a service like Uber or Lyft. If you’d still rather have a chauffeur, consider renting a party bus with a large group of friends. A party bus or SUV limo offers more room than your standard limo, and usually costs less per person. As with dinner, remember to tip your driver at the end of the night.
Most Importantly…
Remember, a little advanced planning goes a long way and can even help you save money in the long run. No matter how you decide to celebrate your prom, be true to yourself. Don’t feel pressured to go along with a plan that you don’t feel comfortable with. Be realistic with your expectations for the evening, and have fun.
